New Sustainable Child Resistant Packaging Makes its Way to Markets
Amcor Rigid Packaging partners with CRATIV Engineered Packaging to bring new child resistant packaging made with 50% Post-Consumer Recycled material (PCR). The CRATIV PCR50TM is manufactured in Canada and is designed to protect vape,pre-roll, edible and flower products. The new packaging container will primarily be used in the hemp, CBD, and cannabis markets. The product is certified according to child-resistant packaging standards in Canada. The new CRATIV line allows cultivators, brands, and distributors to customize their packaging to find the perfect aesthetic and configuration to bring their products into the market in a more eco-friendly platform. Additionally, there is significant room for differentiation through the packaging line’s fully customizable and brandable cases, which can be produced in a range of different colors. The CRATIV PCR50TM is made with a mix of food contact compliant recycled and virgin polypropylene. The cannabis and similar industries are governed by similar standards as the pharmaceutical industry, generally both industries require food-grade, child resistant containers, both of which were achieved with CRATIV’s new product line. Apple, Pepsi, and Smol Introduce Creative Sustainable Packaging Solutions
Apple, Pepsi, and Smol Introduce Creative Sustainable Packaging Solutions
Apple, PepsiCo, and Smol introduce new innovative packaging with the goal of boosting sustainability. Apple introduced its first ever 100% fiber-based packaging for the upcoming apple watch. The introduction of this new packaging approach represents an important milestone for Apple as it has managed to make the most popular smart watch in the world carbon neutral. Apparently, the new iPhone 15 will also feature fiber-based packaging with over 99% of materials being fiber-based. The move to fiber-based packaging is part of Apple’s Commitment to achieving carbon neutrality for all its products by 2030. Likewise, as part of its sustainable packaging mission Pepsi Co announced that it will deploy paper-based solutions to replace plastic rings that were used for multipacks. The paper-based solutions will include paperboard wraps and paperboard clips for multipacks. The packaging transition will include US brands Pepsi, Pepsi Zero, MTN DEW, Starry, Gatorade, and others. 7Up in Canada will also be converted to the new packaging. The plan is to roll out the new paper-based packaging using a phased regional strategy later this year. The packaging is made from recycled materials, and it is also fully recyclable. As for Smol, the company which started off selling plastic free cleaning products will now look to break into the personal hygiene sector with its innovative “anti-plastic-anti-perspirant”. The new deodorant is packaged in a paperboard-based deodorant stick. The packaging is recyclable and can be recycled in traditional curbside recycling streams.
