Innovative packaging film wins award in UK
Innovative packaging film wins award in UK
The global packaging company Sealed Air won at the UK Packaging Awards, for their inventive new CRYOVAC® Brand rBDF™ S10 Film. The ultra-thin food packaging film comprises up to 30% food-grade Certified Circular Resins. It is only 21 microns thick, making it 3-times thinner than other thermoformable films. Also, it can be recycled through a closed-loop pyrolysis process, which was proven through collaboration with several other companies. The film won the award for Resource Efficient Pack of the Year, which prompted senior development manager Stephanie Poole to comment, “This project supports Sealed Air’s pledge to design and advance our innovative packaging to be 100% recyclable or reusable by 2025.” Read the full list of award winners from the UK Packaging Awards here.

Recycled Plastic Packaging Specialist, Reborn, Installs On-Site De-inking Line
Recycled Plastic Packaging Specialist, Reborn, Installs On-Site De-inking Line
Reborn, a France-based recycled plastic packaging specialist, has announced that they are installing an on-site de-inking line for the “over-cycling” of printed consumer films. Printing inks can disrupt the ability to manufacture transparent secondary materials and can result in ‘downcycled’ materials and waste. Reborn’s new B.Clear technology is able to de-ink plastic and ultimately produce secondary material with value and manufacture high-quality recycled film. Three billion euros have been spent on this project with the goal to increase recycling capabilities by 30% and plans to expand further across Europe are already in place. Read more here:
