BASF and Fabbri Group Introduce a Sustainable Cling Film for Fresh Food Packaging
BASF and Fabbri Group Introduce a Sustainable Cling Film for Fresh Food Packaging
BASF and Fabbri Group have come together and designed a sustainable solution for cling film which is used in fresh food packaging. They fabricated a highly transparent stretch film called Nature Fresh. Most fresh foods such as meats, seafoods, fruits, and vegetables can all be wrapped. With this film it provides a combination of mechanical performance and breathability, keeping food fresh for much longer. This invention helps reduce food waste which overall reduces greenhouse gas emissions and increases recycling. With this consumers are starting to shift their preference towards sustainable packaging helping provide a more sustainable world.

INEOS and Coveris Work Together On Stretch Film Application
INEOS and Coveris Work Together On Stretch Film Application
INEOS Olefins and Polymers Europe have reported that its Recyl-IN will be used by Coveris for a new packaging film, which will include at least 30% recycled material. This new packaging film is a part of the company’s way of exploring new ways to replace virgin polymers with PCR materials. Recyc-IN will now be used as the company’s new stretch-hood packaging film with the aim of incorporating recycled material. This new film has received numerous tests at INEOS’ manufacturing facility in Scotland. The tests have shown that the product quality is sustained, accomplishing the same standards as the prior solutions made from 100% virgin material. By switching from virgin polymer to recycled polymers is going towards their target of using more recycled plastics as a raw material.
